How to find large videos on iPhone

The Photos app doesn't sort videos by size. Check Settings › General › iPhone Storage › Photos for a Review Personal Videos suggestion, or use PhoneDiet's Large Videos list, which shows every video over 100 MB sorted by its exact size on your iPhone.

Using iOS's built-in tools

  1. Open Settings › General › iPhone Storage and tap Photos.
  2. If you see Review Personal Videos, tap it to see videos with their sizes.
  3. Otherwise open Photos › Media Types › Videos; long videos are usually the largest.
  4. Delete the ones you don't need, then empty Recently Deleted.

The faster way with PhoneDiet

  1. Open the Large Videos card. Videos over 100 MB are listed largest first, with duration and size.
  2. Change the threshold in Settings (50 MB to 500 MB).
  3. Untick anything you want to keep and tap Delete.

Sizes are measured on your iPhone. Videos stored only in iCloud show an estimate marked ≈.

Common questions

How big is a minute of 4K video?

On a recent iPhone, about 170 MB per minute at 4K 30 fps in HEVC, and more at 60 fps.

Should I lower my video quality?

If space is tight, Settings › Camera › Record Video lets you choose 1080p, which uses roughly a third of the space of 4K.
